Following her performance during last weekend’s MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus took to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for an exciting edition of her new single “Midnight Sky.”
Following Fallon’s artist introduction of Miley’s upcoming album, She Is Miley Cyrus, the 27-year-old launched into a rousing rendition of her latest RCA Records-release. Complete with fog machine effects and supported by her socially distanced band members, Cyrus belted out the rebellious lyrics: “I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone.” The song’s title was lit up in neon lights behind the group that contributed to the overall aesthetic of the show.
“Midnight Sky” marks Cyrus’ first new music since the release of her She Is Coming EP in 2019. At the time, Miley said the EP would be the first of three six-song collections, which, together, would make up a new album, She Is Miley Cyrus.
