Listen to Mapei’s “Don’t Wait” Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper Director’s Cut Remix

Downtown Records newest addition, Mapei, has been blowing up the blogosphere and we can’t seem to get enough of her infectious new tune, “Don’t Wait”. The soulful, R&B vibes and effortless vocals, will get you hooked after one listen as this record was surely made for the lazy, hazy days of summer.

Mapei recently released the remixes by Cranks and Chance The Rapper, and, now, PRO MOTION is proud to present the Frankie Knuckles + Eric Kupper Director’s Cut remix for your listening pleasure. Unfortunately, due to the recent, untimely passing of the legendary “Godfather Of House”, this was one of Frankie’s final remixes.

Michael Pontecorvo of Downtown Records, released a statement about Frankie Knuckles and their history working together over the years.

“There’s the title of Godfather and then there’s the title of the undisputed Godfather Of House: That next-level honor eternally belongs to Frankie Knuckles. His global dance music community is easily two generations deep,  and we lost more than an icon. He was a family member to us.

We’re deeply honored to have collaborated with Frankie over the years – most recently on this remix of Mapei’s single “Don’t Wait.” All of us at Downtown Records will miss working with him and are grateful for his contributions to the music world and culture at large. Our deepest condolences to his family,  friends and community.”
