As “Old Town Road” continues to dominate the airwaves, Lil Nas X finally shared the first taste of his 7 EP with the highly anticipated “Panini,” which he premiered on Beats 1 just before noon on Thursday (June 20th).
The 20-year-old explained in the interview that the Columbia Records release was the first song he ever did in a professional recording environment: “‘Old Town Road’ wasn’t done in a professional studio, that’s the thing. It was never even mixed and mastered. Like the song that you hear today, it’s not mixed or mastered. That’s from the $20 I paid the rough mix.” Listen to the properly-handled “Panini” below.
On the heels of the catchy “Panini,” Nas X will unleash the rest of his long-awaited 7 EP, which reportedly contains eight tracks. The Atlanta-born lyricist relayed that he’s been working closely with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, as well as Daytrip, Cunningham, London On Da Track and Boi-1da. Via a spoiler, it also looks like Cardi B will be featured on the collection’s track “Rodeo.” The NYC rapper previously brought him out to perform “Old Town Road” at Hot 97’s Summer Jam and at her Fashion Nova launch party.
