John Legend and Carrie Underwood are in the holiday spirit as the rhythm and blues/country/pop duo debut the video for their “Hallelujah” collaboration.
Premiered on Thursday (11.19) via Facebook, the musical superstars join forces in a dimly lit, snow-filled room as they deliver the powerful Universal Music-released track. Each multi-Grammy Award winner takes their turn delivering an emotionally infused performance in the following the clip.
“It has been in my heart to do a Christmas album for years, and we started planning this last year when we finished the Cry Pretty Tour 360,” Underwood noted in an interview. “Who would have known what would happen in the world since then, and how much we would all be ready for the hope and joy that Christmas music embodies this year more than ever.” “This song and its message is much needed right now and I’m honored to have it on my Christmas album, My Gift,” the 37-year-old songstress said on Instagram earlier in the week. “I hope you like it.”
