Dolly Parton‘s getting excited for Christmas 2020 as she announced a holiday-themed album three months before the celebrations begin.
Titled A Holly Dolly Christmas, the 74-year old country/pop superstar artist’s first Christmas album in three decades will be released on October 2nd. In a statement, Parton disclosed that she wanted the album name to be “cute and clever” and was inspired by the classic “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by the legendary Burl Ives. “He used to be on all of my Christmas specials all through the years,” Parton said of the iconic singer. “I think of him as Mr. Christmas. I thought, ‘Why don’t do I call it something cute and clever, like that or Deck the Halls with Boughs of Dolly, something corny like that.'”
Supported by a host of entertainment luminaries, Dolly will be joined by crooner Michael Bublé on the first single, “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas.”, Jimmy Fallon chimes in with Parton on their rendition of Mariah Carey‘s iconic holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (an idea that came about after an appearance on the host’s Late Night show) and Willie Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus (Parton’s goddaughter) will also all appear for duets with the country music star.
