With mental health a hot button topic, it’s had quite the impact on several EDM artists who’ve canceled shows and tours in order to stay on the right path. To raise awareness to this critical issue a group of DJs are getting together for the second time in order to fund charities devoted to the cause.
The first Copa del Rave went down in April and raised $12,000 for charity with donations split between VH1 Save the Music and Beats in School. The upcoming October edition will come to Evolve LA on October 24th, from 3 to 10 p.m with confirmed players Diplo, Ardalan, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and more doing their best to be athletic in the name of MusiCares, a group associated with the Recording Academy that “provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need,” covering “financial, medical and personal emergencies.”
The DJs will be joined by team members from digital download service Beatsource, taste-maker label Future Classic, PR and management super-squad Liamous United (combining Infamous, Liason and 2+2 Management), event organizers Live Nation, Diplo’s label Mad Decent, DJ software developer Native Instruments, reigning champs Red Light Management, and the Three Six Zero management group.
