It was only a matter of time before it happened and earlier this week Ariana Grande surpassed Rihanna as the most-streamed female artist on Spotify!
The news broke via the Republic Records singer who shared a screenshot of a tweet by Chart Data announcing her amazing feat. Along with the social media photo the pop superstar added the caption, “holy s***” as she thanked her fans for “listening and caring” and contributing to the 20,500,000,000 (20.5 billion) streams. And after the acknowledging her accomplishment, Grande put the ball back in Rihanna’s court, asking the Barbadian singer to release a new album.
Rihanna’s last project, Anti, came out four years ago. The “Work” singer assured her fans that new music is on the way, however, the artist and beauty brand mogul – born Robyn Rihanna Fenty – made it clear she wasn’t going to be pressured into releasing any material sooner than intended.
