If fans didn’t think Billie Eilish‘s “Bury A Friend” could any get darker, they have just been proven wrong.

Canadian bass music duo Zeds Dead have taken the Interscope-released recording and given it their own twist to fit in at any deserving EDM event. Members DC and Hooks took out the original’s shifty production and chorused vocals and replaced them with menacing bass growls which wobble throughout the entire piece underneath the “Ocean Eyes” singer’s lone voice.

The remix is dark and sultry, but never overpowering. Overall, this new take is a testament to the California-born vocalist’s natural skills in creating something that is easily workable, but also Zeds Dead’s instinct as producers. Check out the Great White North-Meets-West Coast connection via the remix of Billie Eilish’s “Bury A Friend” below.

This process is nothing new for Zeds Dead as they have a long history of working with classic tracks to make heavy dance floor heaters such as versions of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” by Nina Simone, “Gimme Shelter” by The Rolling Stones, “Paradise Circus” by Massive Attack, “Volcano” by Dragonette, and the one and only “Eyes On Fire” by Blue Foundation.
