Professional e-sports league Overwatch has revealed that Zedd will perform for its Overwatch League Grand Finals on September 29th. The Grammy-winning DJ and producer will play for a sold-out crowd at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
According to Blizzard Entertainment which produces the wildly popular game, the German-Russian musician is the perfect artist for the gig given his enthusiastic involvement in the league as one of the top ranked players. CMO Daniel Cherry said in a statement that “The environment has to match the intensity and excitement of the event itself, and when it comes to creating the soundtrack for the world’s best Overwatch League esports players, I couldn’t pick a better artist and bigger fan than Zedd.”
Zedd’s pre-show performance will help celebrate the final two teams duking it out for the championship starting at 3pm ET. The winning team will take home $1.1 million. Fans can watch the final via Twitch.
