Festival veteran Jason Felts is currently in talks with Woodstock 50‘s co-owners about helping resurrect and stage the troubled anniversary festival at a yet-to-be-named site in upstate New York.

Felts is the CEO of Virgin Produced, the entertainment arm of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, that creates the popular annual KAABOO festival in Southern California. While the executive is a partner in his own gathering, the Woodstock project is totally separate and the two events are not to be associated with each other.

The iconic show’s main investor Dentsu previously pulled out of the anniversary concert headlined by Jay-Z, Imagine Dragons and Dead and Company, citing unmet benchmarks and concerns with the viability of the site, and Superfly pulled out in May over long-standing disagreements. Felts is now being approached to produce the legendary festival at the last minute after multiple problems, missed payments, and deadlines as financial advisor, Oppenheimer & Co is now responsible for all financials.
