Following last week’s incident in Sweden where A$AP Rocky was jailed l for allegedly assaulting people who he claimed were trying to fight him and his crew, several artists have voiced their opinions on the matter including Tyga who recently threw his support behind the Harlem native.

The “500 Degrees” rapper took to Twitter on Thursday (July 11th) to announce that he has “decided to cancel my show in Sweden this Sunday July 14. I will not be performing,” before adding the hashtag, “#FREEASAPROCKY.”

As opposed to most proceedings in the United States where an individual can only be held for a short period of time, Rocky can be detained in Swedish jails for at least two weeks while prosecutors decide whether to charge the artist for aggravated assault. This allegation comes despite video showing the supposed ” victim being the initial aggressor … physically attacking Rocky and his crew prior to the incident.

A few days prior, the 30-year-old’s supporters started a petition in hopes of freeing the recording artist, claiming that Rocky and his colleagues have been denied their right to counsel and could remain in jail under “inhumane conditions” until a trial is scheduled for mid- to late August.
