Tove Lo returns to the fore with her empowering new single “Glad He’s Gone.” and the recording will be featured on the singer’s forthcoming album, Sunshine Kitty, set for release via Island Records.

In a statement, the Swedish songstress explained the meaning behind the track, saying “We’ve all been on both sides of the breakup pep talk with our friends…. And we all know how good it feels to get your partner in crime back when they finally leave that idiot behind.” Elaborating further via the infectious Summer song co-produced by Shellback and Struts, Tove Lo recites, “Bitch, I love you, he never loved you/ he never saw the pretty things in you that I do.” Listen to the new effort below via its lyric video.

Sunshine Kitty marks a new chapter for the “Habits” singer while also staying true to her easily-identifiable vocal roots. The title is “a play on pussy power, but it’s a happy, positive way of seeing it,” she said. Stay tuned for more regarding the upcoming project.
