In celebration of her current partnership with Island Records, Toni Braxton has released “Do It.”

The track, driven by piano, light synths and percussion discusses the ending of a bad relationship and the myriad of accompanying emotions as the message is made crystal clear through lyrics “I know it’s gonna hurt/ And I know it’s gonna sting/ And you really don’t wanna leave/ Just get it over with.”

The seven-time Grammy Award winner further elaborated in a statement: “We have all been through situations like this when there is really nothing more to say…. You know he’s not right and you just need to do what you need to do. There is also an element of hope in the song that after you do what you need to do, things will get better.”

Following the artist’s former #1* Billboard Dance Club Songs chart single “Coping” (also on Island Records), “Do It” is this week’s #1 Most Added single at Urban Adult Contemporary radio and the highest chart debut : listen here.
