With the exception of 2006, Tiesto has played a set at Ultra Miami every year since 2002. Unfortunately, however, 2020 will be another no-show from of the Dutch DJ.

Only Carl Cox can match Tiësto’s number of Ultra appearances yet it’s tough to say if anyone else has had such an impact on the Miami festival with his annual main stage sets. To the displeasure of many, Tiësto notified fans of via Instagram.

With the news that Tiesto, Flosstradamus, What So Not, and Hardwell will not attend Ultra 2020, it may be a time for a younger generation of turntable talent given the scheduled appearances by fresh-faced artists such as Charlotte de Witte, The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Flume, Kygo and more who’ve been selling out massive venues and headlining events for years.

The final phase of the Ultra lineup will arrive in no time, ahead of the annual March 20-22 festival that returns to its original Bayfront Park home. Check out the current bill here and watch this space for more Miami news.
