Game of Thrones is going all out for its final season. While the lead characters are gunning for the throne, The Weeknd, SZA, and Travis Scott are teaming up to bring a new song to the wildly popular HBO series.
This super-collaboration started as a mere rumor on Reddit as well as a Travis Scott fan page. However, a source close to the project has confirmed to Pitchfork that the epic melding of minds is most definitely happening, just in time to cap off the final season. According to the same contact, GOT initially enlisted The Starboy to make a track for the series. It was then his idea to bring on SZA and Travis Scott for the triple-threat collab.
The world-renowned artists are riding waves off of huge 2018s, with all three being recognized for their recent and significant works. The 29-year-old New Jersey native received the most nominations of any female artist at last year’s Grammy Awards while The Weeknd and La Flame both released transformative collections – My Dear Melancholy, and Astroworld, respectively.
The final season of Game of Thrones will commence this Sunday, April 14th, on HBO, but there is no word on which episode this highly anticipated song will appear on.
