NBC’s The Voice recently announced four new mentors to the mix for the reality show’s upcoming eleventh season. The newest contestants will have a little more to compete for now that Joan Jett, Bette Midler, Sammy Hagar, and Charlie Puth will be joining the cast. The combination of both contemporary and classic artists adds a nice bit of diversity to the mix as the four artists bring elements of both pop and rock ‘n roll to the table.
The new mentors will be brought on in pairs. Joan Jett will be teaming up with Miley Cyrus while Bette Midler will be working together with series judge Blake Shelton. A natural fit considering the fact that the former Disney star has called the Punk Rock veteran her “inspiration” when inducting her into the Rock Hall of Fame.
Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine has fittingly decided to team up with Van Halen veteran Sammy Hagar while Alicia Keys and Charlie Puth round out the gang.
The four additional cast members will have their expertise called upon during the Voice‘s Battle Rounds where they will provide additional counsel for the show’s aspiring singers.
