Though the music world continues to suffer due to pandemic-related issues Taylor Swift continues to set records as her latest album Folklore contributes to the artists record breaking stint at #1 on Billboard’s 200 album chart.

Swift’s latest full length has sat atop the chart for seven non-consecutive weeks which, combined with her prior work, accounts for a total of 47 weeks at #1, one more than the prior record holder Whitney Houston. It appears as if the Pennsylvania native got a boost following the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she performed “Betty” off Folklore live and released it as a single shortly thereafter.

Houston hit #1 with her debut Whitney Houston LP in 1986, followed by Whitney, The Bodyguard soundtrack and I Look to You. Now in the number two slot the deceased artist is trailed by Adele. Listen to Taylor Swift’s Folklore below.
