In a string of recent tweets, the Pennsylvania native slammed Donald Trump’s perceived attempts to tamper with the U.S.P.S. – and with it, the organization’s ability to handle mail-in voting amid the Corona Virus pandemic. “Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power,” Swift communicated. She followed up by urging her fans to “Request a ballot early. Vote early.”
This is not the “You Need To Calm Down” singer’s first foray into politics, as she urged fans to register to vote in support of a pair of Tennessee Democrats in 2018.
In response to the latest mail controversy, America’s postal service has issued at least one statement on the matter, explaining that some of the actions they’ve recently taken i.e. removing mail boxes and replacing others, are due to a decreasing amount of business in the past months as well as general upkeep.
