Taylor Swift and Khalid, who are both honored on the 2019 Time magazine 100 list, will perform at the celebratory gala on April 23rd, according to the publication. Both artists were announced via their contemporaries who shared memories and reasons as to why they are the right fit to play this year gala.

In addition, Khalid, who recently performed at Coachella, was introduced by none other than Alicia Keys. “He’s a beautiful writer with the ability to take human concepts and make you understand and feel them,” the multi-Grammy winner penned. “He has a full, powerful voice that is somehow unassuming and smooth at the same time. He’s accessible — almost like you’ve met somebody like him before, although there’s nobody else like him.”

Both the Pennsylvania native and 21-year-old are fresh off of stellar 2018’s, with the former having launched her Reputation world tour and ensuing full-length recap video, while the latter was nominated for and won a handful of awards.
