As is customary among many artists prior to a significant announcement, Swedish House Mafia has formally deleted their Instagram account.
Not long after Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso mysteriously wiped their Instagram platforms, their iconic three-man supergroup followed suit while fellow SHM member Axwell‘s address remains active.
Following the group’s epic 2018 reunion at Ultra Music Festival, Swedish House Mafia cleared their official Instagram account prior to announcing a wave of special shows and festival performances. The silent, cryptic message was hinting at something bigger yet no one could’ve anticipated what the Scandinavian trio had in store. It’s not much different this time ’round making any and all news a hot commodity.
Fans can possibly expect new music, a full album, or some sort of performance or tour to come as the chances that this current content deletion is coincidental are highly unlikely.
Earlier this month, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, two members of Swedish House Mafia, were booked to perform together at XS Nightclub however the latter member never ended up performing that night, and the group cancelled their performance at Ultra Korea the following day. Now, however, a new teaser from Wynn Nightlife, owners of XS, has fans buzzing once more.
The video released suggests a new resident DJ/act performing at the nightclub on June 25th. While there’s no name or even any discernible music, the overall style of the video and font of the text, especially when the date flashes, match the Swedish House Mafia branding that the world-renowned trio has been pushing i.e. big block letters, with white text on a black background. Check out the teaser and decide if it’s worth the trip this coming Tuesday.
After spending only 16 months in his Beverly Hills home, Calvin Harris is ready to move to a new location.
The luxurious 6,000 square foot pad, which includes four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a full in-home recording studio and two-story music room can be had for only $5.75 million or a $25,000 per month lease. The amenities don’t end there as the home features living spaces in varying styles, a family room with a wet bar, a spiral staircase, swimming pool and outdoor shower, plus a spacious deck and views of city lights.
Reportedly, the home has belonged to multiple world-renowned DJ/Producers in its history, including Swedish House Mafia‘s Steve Angello, who purchased the residence in 2013 for $3.9 million. Angello later sold it to Harris for $5.045 million. It is unknown what is causing the “We Found Love” artist to get rid of this house, but he will almost surely find somewhere that is even more grand.
Angello’s long overdue full length Wild Youth will be available on November 20, 2015 on his own label, Size Records and it will feature two previously released singles, ‘Wasted Love‘ and ‘Children Of The Wild’, the latter of which can be seen and heard below.
BBC Radio 1 is celebrating dance music history by replaying the best Essential mixes from the past two decades. Three days ago, Swedish House Mafia’s Soundcloud channel was dusted off and taken out dormancy as their 2007 BBC Radio 1 ‘Live at Amnesia’ debut was uploaded to their page.
Though SHF has since disbanded with Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello establishing themselves as successful solo artists in their own right, the former trio’s accomplishments were of legendary proportion and played a vital part in helping make dance music part of American pop culture.
We hope you enjoy the two hour mix by these incredibly talented Swedes!
On first listen, ‘Freedom’ by Chris Avantgarde might not ring a bell, but if your were anywhere near this year’s Ultra Music Festival or streaming it live from home in March, chances are you saw and heard Steve Angello’s set when the record was played. The big-synth single is a progressive powerhouse that’s been in high demand ever since it’s live debut and the Angello-owned Size Records describes it best by saying:
“Building ominously, the opening drum patterns are reminiscent of golden era 90’s big room house once joined by vocals and synth chords the track takes off. Punchy basslines intertwine with multiple layers to create an anthem capable of rocking any dance floor.”
Though currently synonymous with EDM Avantgarde actually started his musical career as a Jazz pianist and this exciting German producer possesses all the skillz and versatility of a successful avante garde artist.
“Show Me Love” recorded by Robin S is a song that dates back to 1990. Several years later it was remixed by it’s original (Swedish) producer StoneBridge & Nick Nick and re-released in many parts of the world. Initially signed to Champion Records, the house single blew up in the United Kingdom and made its way across the pond to becoming a Billboard #1 hit in the United States.
In 2009, Steve Angello and Laidback Luke gave new life to the, then, twenty year old title by sampling Robin’s iconic top line vocal. Fast forward to present day when Swedish producer Anevo has given it a whole new perspective by taking on the remixing duties for Mixmash Records.

Often times referred to as ‘the godfather of electronic music’, French composer Jean Michel Jarre is best known for his 1976, 12 million selling album, Oxygène. Three years later, the artiste performed to a crowd of one million plus at the Place de la Concorde, an attendance record he has since broken three times.
Clearly a living legend, Jarre recently collaborated with fellow Frenchman, Anthony Gonzalez of M83 on a track called ‘Glory’. And when deciding on who should remix the joint venture, Jean handpicked Swedish superstar Steve Angello to provide the post production treatment.
In the Soundcloud song description it states:
“Angello lives up to the task, enhancing the single with subtle fades that add depth to the already powerful track. Coupled with an increased speed and a more pronounced beat towards the end, the track grows with an explosive force.”
We hope you enjoy the international production by these three brilliant musical minds.
