EDC Orlando Reveals Schedule + Grounds Map

EDC Orlando

EDC Orlando has expanded into a full three-day festival this year, running this weekend from November 8-10. Stacked with a giant lineup, more stages and new experiences, the gathering is finally getting its much needed breakout showcase.

Promoter and organizer Insomniac has revealed the full schedule and map for the experience. As usual, the biggest artists such as deadmau5, Eric Prydz, DJ Snake and Above & Beyond play prime time slots. This year is stacked to the brim from the opening, with artists such as Arty and ARTBAT playing early sets. The grounds now include five stages as well, notably adding the stereoBLOOM area. Set times themselves are pretty lengthy, with most artists playing at least an hour. Some of the bigger acts, including nearly everyone at neonGARDEN, will play for 90 minutes.

In terms of the larger layout of the show, the official grounds map notes how much the festival has grown in sheer size. The venue now includes new art pieces and activations, not to mention the five flagship stages and the smaller bonus stages. Check out the full schedule for the biggest EDC Orlando yet as well as the map below.

Above & Beyond + Seven Lions Release Emotional ‘See The End’: Listen

Above & Beyond

The incredible collaboration between Above & Beyond and Seven Lions, two of the biggest names in crossover trance and house, is finally here!

The Anjunabeats-released effort was debuted at EDC 2019 when the California native joined A&B’s Tony and Jono on stage but did not make its way to the public until now. “See The End” is the best of both worlds, combining Above & Beyond’s huge, emotional synths with Seven Lions’ uptempo style. Opposite the Other provides vocals that fit perfectly within the underlying composition to create a wholesome and emotional piece.

The “Worlds Apart” artist made a statement regarding the recording, saying “I’ve been a fan of Above & Beyond for such a long time, and I’m so stoked to finally unveil our collaboration – See The End feat. Opposite The Other. My journey began with a remix way back in 2011, and to finally see this collab come out is a real full-circle moment and one I’ll cherish for a long time.” Listen to the fresh and uplifting new production here.

Odesza Announces ‘Sundara’ Destination Festival In Mexico

While destination festivals have recently been plagued by bad luck such as Pretty Lights’ Island Of Light being cancelled due to hurricanes and Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeach event being too expensive, Odesza is determined to make the idea work.

The electronic duo have announced Sundara, an event to take place in Riviera Maya, Mexico next year, from March 13th-16th. The festival is described as an all-inclusive destination festival featuring a stellar lineup. Odesza will headline, playing three sets: an extended live performance, a No.Sleep DJ Set, and an Ambient DJ Set.

Rounding out the rest of the lineup are artists RUFUS DO SOL, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Bob Moses, Jai Wolf, TOKiMONSTA, Mount Kimbie (DJ Set), Kasbo, Golden Features, Evan Giia, and Pluko.

For those interested in attending, general ticket on-sale begins October 23rd, with the cheapest price tier beginning at $1,339.75 per person, going up to $3,909 per person. Payment plans are available. For more information, visit sundarafestival.com.

Electric Zoo 2015 [Event Review]

Recapping out Labor Day Weekend it’s only fitting that we review the 3-day, Electric Zoo dance music festival in New York, held at Randall’s Island (the same location as Governor’s Ball).

Made Event, the organizers behind the EDM music confab, made security their #1 priority adding many drug-sniffing dogs, creating countless wristbands with very specific access, and enforcing their own currency called ‘EZ Bucks’.

As soon as we checked in, the only thing we could think about was paying the “Tap-Up” booth a visit. We were excited because it allowed you to exchange cash or credit cards for the event’s own EZ Bucks currency … which was significantly weaker than the US dollar as $20.00 converted to 9 EZ bucks, which essentially afforded us a water and a sandwich.

Despite the high prices, the talent was on point all three days including standout performances by Galantis and Alison Wonderland on Friday, Above & Beyond on Saturday, and The Glitch Mob and Alesso on Sunday.
Unlike years prior all EZoo fans were blessed with beautiful, warm weather throughout the entire weekend, breaking the festival’s curse that cancelled the Sunday performances in 2014 and 2013.

A rather disappointing aspect of this year’s festival was the lack of branding. Besides several stilt walkers dressed as zebras, the Riverside stage which morphed a zebra, octopus and snake into one odd fantasy creature, and the zebra bench in the T-Mobile VIP lounge, there were very few indicators of the festival’s zoo theme.
In addition, the layout of the mainstage looked like it was shortened or unfinished unlike the Electric Daisy Carnival’s stage setups that were nothing short of magnificent.
On a brighter note, the security set up throughout the grounds was very friendly and sometimes even danced to the beat but when Oliver Heldens is playing out his future house tracks, it’s hard not to.

All in all, this year’s EZoo was a fairly decent 3-day event despite it’s less than stellar attendance. Sunday was the most popular day  perhaps due to direct competition with Made In America, a multi-genre festival in Philadelphia. And it will be interesting to see how Electric Zoo comes back in 2016.

Above & Beyond Present Official Anthem for Electric Zoo 2015

Above & Beyond will be headlining the mainstage on Saturday, September 5th at this year’s Electric Zoo

While most anthems for EDM festivals take the high-octane, progressive house track, big saw synth leads, and catchy hooks direction this year’s EZoo takes a different tact with ‘Fly To New York’ by Above & Beyond and featuring Zoë Johnston.

Like many of their prior works, this A&B offering is incredibly raw with emotion with increased energy and wide euphoric tones. And PRO MOTION is pleased to see these leaders of trance provide New York’s best electronic dance music festival with their latest anthemic release.
