The video for SZA‘s much loved track “The Weekend” has arrived. The music video was directed by Solange Knowles and teased a few months back. And it’s finally here.

Filmed in a parking lot, the balcony of a Brutalist-style building and an art studio. In the song, the 28-year-old R&B star is the other woman taking power from the man who cheats, but in the video, she takes space to dance alone, with her own power.

SZA’s been having an amazing year. Her debut album Ctrl was released back in June and has received rave reviews. “I feel like people are sick of me saying I’m surprised,” SZA told Pitchfork.

“They’re like, ‘Bitch, shut up,’ and I’m just like, ‘I can’t because I’m literally still shook.’ I can pretend to be not shook if it would make y’all less angry with me.”

The singer also received five Grammy nominations, which included: Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best R&B Song for “Supermodel,” Best R&B Performance for “The Weekend,” and Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott.
