Sia already has a big 2019 planned out, with multiple projects to come. In a Christmas day response to a fan who asked when they would be getting new music, the Australian songstress gave a detailed response. “Next year I’m releasing an album and a feature length musical I wrote and directed,” she tweeted. “Lots of fun things to come!”
The Grammy-nominated singer has been working on her directorial debut, Music, for more than three years. The film is slated to star her longtime dancing muse, Maddie Ziegler, Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom Jr. According to a recent Rolling Stone story, Ziegler will play an “autistic child who comes under the care of her sober drug-dealing sister,” played by Hudson. “It’s about finding your voice and creating your own family,” the magazine reported.
In terms of the album, nothing has been mentioned about the follow-up to 2016’s RCA Records-released This is Acting, which featured such hits as “Alive,” “Cheap Thrills” and “The Greatest.”
