On Saturday (June 27th) artists from around the world came together for the “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future” virtual concert, sending a message of hope amid the worldwide health crisis.

During the livestream, hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, many artists, including J Balvin, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, and Miley Cyrus, and others who joined the concert to shed a light on communities disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. “Latin America is now the hardest-hit region of this pandemic and experts say Africa will be next,” Shakira expressed before performing a rendition of the inspirational “Sale El Sol.” “We need to make sure that everyone has security and access to healthcare in these places or it’ll make distributing and vaccinating that much harder.”

J Balvin brought his signature energy to show with a medley of “Que Calor” and “Mi Gente” and the Colombian star was accompanied by the Nigerian youth dance group The Dreamcatchers who showing off their impressive choreography as they danced alongside the infectious rhythm. Offering his own words of hope the Latin superstar stated “Let’s unite for a vaccine and unite for our future.” See his appearance below.

Coldplay joined the international virtual effort by offering up a live-streamed take on their timeless classic “Paradise” during which time they imagined how the world would be without lockdowns and COVID.
