Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Thursday (January 24th) to post about her new collaboration with Julia MichaelsAnxiety,” from Michaels’ brand-new EP, Inner Monologue Part 1.

The 26-year-old posted a throwback photo of her and the Iowa native embracing, accompanied by a thoughtful caption. “My sweet soul sister. Julia you have been a huge part of my life,” the “It Ain’t Me” singer wrote. “You have taught me how to have courage when I have self doubt.”

Gomez elaborated by explaining how their song had a very specific meaning. Turning to her fans, she didn’t shy away from getting personal: “This song is extremely close to my heart as I’ve experienced anxiety and know a lot of my friends do too. You’re never alone if you feel this way. The message is much needed and I really hope you guys like it!”

“Anxiety” is the opening track on Michaels’ Inner Monologue Part 1 and explores what it means to be hopelessly anxious. “Feel like I’m always apologizing for feeling/ Like I’m out of my mind when I’m doing just fine/ And my exes will say that I’m hard to deal with/ And I admit it, it’s true,” Gomez sings on the Republic Records-released song. Give it a listen below.
