Selena Gomez has officially released her new song, “Bad Liar.” As reported earlier this week, the synth-pop track features a prominent sample of Talking Heads’ 1977 single “Psycho Killer.”

According to Billboard, founding member of the iconic new wave group, David Byrne “wholeheartedly gave his permission” for the sample’s use after hearing the song and liking it.

“Bad Liar” once again finds Gomez working with Revival collaborators Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, whom the pop star. But who exactly is Selena talking about?

It doesn’t necessarily hold the meaning that you may think, however, as Tranter stated, “The lyrics are really cool and descriptive about when you first start having feelings for someone, but don’t want to admit it, which turns you into a ‘Bad Liar.’”

Because of this, many insist that the track was written for Selena’s new boyfriend, The Weeknd. Listen below.

Selena’s new release follows up on “It Ain’t Me” featuring Kygo, which arrived back in February. Last year, she joined Tory Lanez on Cashmere Cat’s single “Trust Nobody.” Her last LP was 2015’s Revival.
