Sam Smith gave an intimate, moving performance of his song, “Too Good At Goodbyes” Thursday on The Late Late Show hosted by James Corden.

In addition to the comfortably-seated band that was backing up Smith, the trio of backup singers perfectly accented the stripped-down performance during the chorus. The mood was also set up by the expertly-placed assortment of warm hued vintage lamps across the stage.

This performance comes less than a week after the release of Smith’s newest album, The Thrill Of It All.

Just over a week ago, Smith also joined Corden for a round of Carpool Karaoke. The host and singer harmonized surprisingly well on Smith’s hits, as well as on an exciting take on “Work From Home” when they were joined by Fifth Harmony. Watch the November 1st segment below.
