This morning (January 15th) the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced their annual inductees for the year 2020. The list is large in variety as it not only includes rock bands (as it should), but also honors two of the biggest names in Pop and Hip-Hop history.
In addition to Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, and T. Rex, Whitney Houston and the Notorious B.I.G. have been added to the mix – creating an eclectic blend of sounds offered from all those inducted. Two notable incorporations to the festivities are Jon Landau, a longtime industry manager who guided Bruce Springsteen’s career, and Irving Azoff (personal manager of the Eagles since 1974), who are both earning the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The Class of 2020 will become official on May 2nd at the 35th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Presented by Klipsch Audio, which, for the first time ever will be broadcast live on HBO. This year’s event takes place at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland with tickets going on sale February 27th. Performers will be announced at a later date.
