Rita Ora is partnering with Conecuh Brands to launch Próspero Tequila, joining the team as a shareholder and Chief Creative Partner. The drink is produced at the Don Roberto Distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, by Stella Anguiano, one of the first female tequila master distillers.
The Yugoslavia-born singer/artist made a statement regarding the new collaboration:
“I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with amazing brands and each time I learn something new about the business side of the industry. With this partnership I wanted to push myself to take on a new role. Being Chief Creative Partner and shareholder has allowed me to invest my time and energy in a new venture, which at its core highlights strong independent women. Working with Stella and visiting the distillery was an amazing experience and affirmed my desire to take on this position within the company. I can’t wait to toast this new partnership with my family, friends, and fans.”
The master distiller agreed, saying, “Behind every successful family is a strong woman who serves as the heart and backbone. Próspero is a tequila that celebrates that. I’m proud to be collaborating on a spirit brand made by women that all women can enjoy.” Ora follows a line of celebrities who have also launched their own liquor partnerships, including Drake‘s Virginia Black Whiskey, Diddy’s Ciroc and Justin Timberlake‘s Sauza 901.
The company currently offers the beverage in three varieties: Blanco ($34.99), Reposado ($39.99) and Anejo ($42.99).
