His representative said, “He has been working on a new record for a few months,” but did not include information as to when the project will be released or what it will be called. The first clue to the new album came on March 14th when the 78-year-old’s recording engineer Bruce Sugar posted a picture of himself, Ringo and All-Starr Band guitarist Steve Lukather on Facebook with the caption, “Another great day in the Studio…” Starr’s last album, Give More Love, came out in 2017 courtesy of Roccabella Music.
Ringo and his All-Starr Band will be going on the road this year, starting March 21st in Funner, CA, followed by nine shows throughout April in Japan. He’ll be back performing in Canada and the U.S. starting again on August 1st. Among the shows will be one at the Bethel Woods Center of the Arts during the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival. He will be joined on the stage by none other than the Edgar Winter Band and Arlo Guthrie.
