The ’80s were an interesting time.
Hair was as high as our dreams and shoulder-padded blazers made every woman look suitable for football.
And you know what they say, history has a strong tendency to repeat itself.
First, there was that sax-alicious version of Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean,” followed by more ’80s remakes featuring pop hits from Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, and more — all made by a single YouTuber by the name of TRONICBOX.
Now, another YouTube genius known as Saint-Laurent followed suit and turned the anthemic summer dance hit “That Is What You Came For” by Rihanna and Calvin Harris into an epic throwback power ballad.
Saint-Laurent double timed Rih’s vocals along synthesized keyboards and a shredding guitar solo that screams old school. The song has a Lite FM written all over it and the accompanying video edit is just as on point.
Might I add that the ’80 hair-do looks incredibly posh on Riri.
