Sampling ’90s R&B has become “a thing” in the deep and future house landscape over the last year or so. The most recent example being Diplo’s & Sleepy Tom’s “Be Right There“, which features Priscilla Renea re-singing the vocal parts to Jade’s ’92 breakup cut “Don’t Walk Away”.

Today, festival heavy hitters R3hab and Quintino channel thier love for throwback R&B in “Freak”. “Freak” features a sped-up acapella Adina Howard’s sultry 1995 R&B classic “Freak Like Me,” layered over a vibrant tropical-tinged arrangement from the Dutch producers.
