Less than two weeks after Cook County prosecutors charged him with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, R. Kelly agreed to sit down with Gayle King for an interview on his current situation as well as matters of the past.
While viewers probably expected some contentious moments on the CBS This Morning segment, one in particular left viewers in surprise and shock. As one may expect, after being grilled about the accusations from both past and present, including the rumors of leading a sex cult, holding people against their will and having relations with underage girls, the Grammy winning vocalist became agitated and exploded at everyone in the room with an impassioned rant.
“I gave you all 30 years of my career! Thirty years of my career! Y’all trying to kill me!” he screamed, pointing aggressively at the cameras. “You killing me, man. This is not about music. I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids. And I can’t do it. Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth. You don’t want to believe it.” Watch that and more in the whole broadcast here.
As Kelly tries to prove his innocence in the court of public opinion, the rant seems to have fallen on deaf ears as with the mounting evidence and witnesses stacking up against him, many will not budge from their conclusion that he is guilty of most, if not all accusations that arose in the Surviving R. Kelly documentary.
