After the state passed the nation’s toughest anti-abortion law, the Russian protest band Pussy Riot is planning a concert in Alabama to benefit Planned Parenthood

One report has confirmed that the controversial group is set to perform on July 11th at a music venue in Birmingham. A tweet by the band says the show will benefit both Planned Parenthood and the Yellowhammer Fund that provides funding for anyone seeking care at one of the state’s three abortion clinics. This exhibition is just the second that the feminist collective has booked in the U.S. this year.

Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are currently suing to block the new and controversial law, which, in practice, would ban all abortions except ones when the women’s health is at serious risk. On the other side, backers of the legislation say they hope court challenges will lead to a Supreme Court decision outlawing the procedure nationwide.
