On this day, September 11th, we mourn the loss of almost 3,000 innocent lives that were taken from us 16 years ago.
Whether you believe that the acts were carried out by terrorists or another group, it doesn’t change the fact that the attacks on that day were deliberate and abhorrent to all rational people.
Though our country is currently being rocked by a number of tragedies and political unrest, America stands united in remembering those we lost in the horrific attacks. As always, a memorial service was held at Ground Zero in New York to honor the victims, and there are various other tributes taking place throughout the country, including in Washington D.C.
The hashtag #NeverForget began trending early this morning, with many celebrities such as Lin-Manuel Miranda and Paula Abdul sharing their voices on the horrific events that took place on September 11th, 2001.

Also reminding us that there are still many people out there who are suffering or who have died from 9/11-related illnesses is the NYPD:
In remembrance of those we lost on 9/11 & afterwards due to 9/11-related illnesses, a tribute to each of the fallen… #NeverForget
