The EDM equipment giant has recently released the DDJ-200, a piece of hardware that offers a bare-essentials experience for budding turntable artists at the more reasonable price of $149. What sets this controller apart from other companies’ products is that it links with streaming services including SoundCloud Go+ and Beatport LINK so that start up DJs can save money on tracks as well.
Designed to run straight from users’ smartphones via Pioneer DJ’s WeDJ app, the DDJ-200 can also adapt to a more traditional laptop and music file set ups. Furthermore, the company has partnered with Serato, Native Instruments, Virtual DJ and Mixvibes to make streaming options readily available for up-and-coming performers.
Music on demand is the future and while this may be a sure sign of where the industry is headed it may be quite some time before DJs give up their trusty USBs altogether. Check out the official video for the DDJ-200 below.
