With little in the way of live performance opportunities, many a musician is making the best of a frustrating situation by creating new music. Case in point is Pentatonix the five-person a capella band who recently teamed up virtually to perform their cover of Billie Eilish‘s “When the Party’s Over.”
The somber clip features all five vocalists of the Grammy-winning group singer a somber version of the fellow award winner’s song, with all singers dressed in black and situated in front of a white background. Released on June 24th via RCA Records.”When the Party’s Over” is featured on the vocal group’s latest EP, At Home, along covers of The Weeknd‘s #1 hit “Blinding Lights,” Dua Lipa fan-favorite album cut “Break My Heart,” and The Cranberries’ 1992 classic “Dreams.”
This isn’t the first time Pentatonix has dipped into Eilish’s discography as the quintet also recorded their version of the teenager’s “Ilomilo” exclusively for WhatsApp using 8D technology. Watch their take on the song, originally featured on 2019’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? below.
