New York City’s Paradise Garage is undisputedly one of most iconic discotheques in the world. The King Street nightclub has become a symbol of dance music, club culture, and a true monument of the LGBTQ community.
In support of World AIDS Day, Ministry of Sound has just announced ‘Night In Paradise’ to take place this November. The fundraiser event will pay homage to Garage mixmaster Larry Levan and Mel Cheren, the Godfather of Disco.
A Night in Paradise will showcase Levan’s seminal soundtrack, and the music it has since inspired, the event also aims to raise £20,000 to support two of the world’s fist and leading HIV charities: New York’s Gay Men’s Health Crisis and the UK’s Terrence Higgins Trust, with all profits from the event being split equally between the two.
Ministry of Sound’s ‘Night In Paradise’ will feature live performances from New York City and UK dance legends Jellybean Bennitez, Joy Llanos, Victor Rosado, David Depino, Justin Berkmann and more.
