With isolation becoming a significant part of daily life and and outdoor music events on temporary hold, Stay At Home Fest is quite a creative idea.
In a statement, the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council – who were originally slated to host the 17th Annual Oxford Film Fest – announced a virtual gathering that “harnesses the power of the internet for good, by creating a central hub to find all the fantastic decentralized events that are happening online, and aiding music discovery during the global pandemic.”
The effort is two-pronged as it helps to get artists the practice and visibility they need at the same time as viewers can see live music from the comfort of their home. Stay At Home Fest urges those interested to sign up on their website for updates on who’s playing and when. There is also a convenient calendar of events as well, provided on the same page.
