5.) Black Atlass, “Blonde”

The musical brainchild of singer/songwriter and producer Alex Fleming, Black Atlass features a prodigal body of work that was given the nod by brands like Vogue and Louis Vuitton. Signing with the New York-based label Fool’s Gold, the seventeen-year-old prodigy released his EP Young Bloods and proceeded to release the singles “Jewels” and “Paris.” His latest single “Blonde” is a mesmerizing ballad that features his entrancing vocals and piano skills. You won’t regret giving this a listen.

4.) Bibi Bourelly, “Perfect”

German singer/songwriter Bibi Bourelly had a breakout year in 2015. After signing to Def Jam Records and moving out to Los Angeles, Bourelly wrote a string of hits which include Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” and Selena Gomez’s “Camouflage.” Rih was so impressed with the song she decided to make it her lead single off of 2016’s ANTI. That same year Bourelly released her own single “Ego” which dominated the Spotify Viral Top 50 Charts and made her television debut on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Check out her latest single “Perfect” featuring Earl St. Claire below.

3.) Sophie Beem, “Skyline”

The Seventeen-year-old New Yorker was hand picked by Beyoncé Knowles for her record label Parkwood’s selective roster. Being one of only four artists represented, which includes Bey herself, Sophie Beem has been singing at a very early age and wowed the X Factor judges back in 2012. Since then she’s released a self-titled EP as well as a surprise music video for her single “Skyline.” The visual piece highlights the sheik Manhattan spot of Chinatown’s Mott Street where Beem and her crew take over the intersection of Mott and Bayard and the famous Chinatown Fair Arcade. For a hip, metropolitan visual and sonic experience, check out “Skyline” now.

2.) Old Man Saxon, “The Perils”

I first caught site of Saxon through the grape vine on content aggregators such as Reddit and Imgur. He posted his story of how he spent 13 months homeless living out of his car and made a music video detailing his ordeal. Curious, I checked it out and was instantly hooked. Not only does he have a unique sound and voice but you can truly feel his struggles through his music (even if you can’t actually relate). He reminds me of Anderson .Paak in the sense that he’s on his way to being a star on the rise. Don’t be surprised to hear more about Old Man Saxon in 2017. Read his story here and check out “The Perils” below.

1.) Nik, “Love Me Crazy”

Nik Hartfield is somewhat of a triple threat in the world of entertainment. Not only can she sing, but she also dances and does her own choreography. She’s also a notable fashion designer who’s been featured in the Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, and BET, the latter even heralded her Instagram as one of the top 10 to follow. Her single “Love Me Crazy” has Pop/R&B vibes and sees constant radio play on SiriusXM and other local stations. Nik Hartfield is definitely an artist to watch out for and will be a household name before you even know it. For the latest in fashion, be sure to follow her as well.
