Aside from a wily remix to the chart-topping “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd Nicki Minaj kept a low-key profile releasing music this year. Today (Dec. 7) Minaj dropped new track “Ain’t Gone Do It” and it breathes a life of its own.
Her unapologetic cockiness and fem bravado is remisnicent of Nicki Lewinski’s mixtape era. “ESPN photoshootin’ with Kobe, you Photoshop b*tches be needin’ Adobe,” Minaj spits on the track. The upbeat pop-centric production mixed with Minaj’s vocal shifts of her secondary personalities is totally Pink Friday-esque.
An unidentifiable female also bodies the second verse, perfectly complimenting Nicki’s high pitched cartoon voice in the hook. But who is this unidentifiable MC blessing our ears? It’s a mystery for now.

Coinciding with the new track, Minaj’ released her new gaming app The Empire, developed by Glu Mobile. The app allows fans the opportunity to be the next queen of Hip-Hop. Players can create their own music empire and work their way up to stardom by recording themselves alongside Nicki Minaj on a track.
The pink Barbie might have been on a hiatus, but now we know she has definitely been cooking up new music in the studio.
