With many of us socially distancing ourselves from anyone who’s not an essential worker, the Corona Virus has put a strain on the search for new companionship and love . And in response to the romantic struggle Nicholas Braun recently recorded and released “Antibodies (Do you have the)”.
The man who plays Cousin Greg on the HBO original series Succession recorded and shared an impromptu song borne out of the pandemic struggle. After living with two of his friends over the last several months, Braun was wishing for someone of his own. “My friends are a couple and they’ve been together for years, but I was back there sort of being like, ‘Man, I wish I had somebody right now to go through this with,’” Braun told Rolling Stone. “And so this girl and I were talking and we were like, ‘Maybe we should go meet up and go for a walk — with bandanas on.’ So I went on this quarantine date; it sort of felt secret because I didn’t want my friends to know. And I guess the combination of paranoia and romance is what the song is about.”
The accompanying music video spells out exactly what happened that day, featuring the same bandanas used on the date, hand sanitizer, clips from COVID press conferences and Instagram fans that wanted to get in on the fun. Listen to and watch the clip for “Antibodies (Do you have the)” below with proceeds going to nonprofits COPE and Partners in Health.
