New Kids On The Block Announce New LP

More than a decade since their last full length, the New Kids on the Block are prepped and ready to release their new full length project.

The iconic boy band members Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood surprised their diehard fans (aka Blockheads) by announcing ‘Still Kids,’ their follow-up LP to 2013’s ’10’ that is scheduled to drop on May 17.

The inspiration for subsequent bands like Take That, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, NKOTB took to social media sharing their lead single, ‘Kids’, which was written and produced by David Stewart and Luke Batt.

In their own words, the now man band said that fans can expect to hear “pop anthems, dance tracks, love songs and grooves.”  And in addition to their own talents, the legendary five will be joined by DJ Jazzy Jeff on ‘Get Down’, and ‘Old School Love’ is a collaborative effort with 80s singer Taylor Dayne.

Written by Wahlberg and McIntyre, Donny said that “It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made.” “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.” “This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle.” “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”

About the LP, Joey added: “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”

A nod to their 1990 stadium tour, the group will embark on ‘The Magic Summer Tour’ in June and will feature special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
