As country music fans got ready for Morgan Wallen on Saturday Night Live on October 10th, the rising artist was unfortunately cut from the lineup for violating COVID-19 protocol.

In response to the unfortunate situation. on Wednesday Wallen took it on the chin and posted a video on his verified Instagram account to talk about what happened. “I was getting ready for ‘SNL’ this Saturday and I got a call from the show that I will no longer be able to play,” Wallen said. “And that’s because of Covid protocols, which I understand…. I respect the show’s decision because I know ​that I put them in jeopardy and I take ownership for this. I’d like to apologize to ‘SNL,’ to my fans, to my team for bringing me these opportunities and I let them down.”

What led to the NBC show cancellation was a viral TikTok video that showed the 27-year-old drinking at a party without a mask. In response to the situation, SNL’s Lorne Michaels let Wallen know that they’d find him a future time slot and in his place rock pioneer Jack White will perform.
