Converse unveiled its limited-edition Pride-focused “Yes For All” sneaker capsule last month, which features colorful rainbow-themed renditions of Converse’s classic sneakers. Now, the sneaker brand has announced Miley Cyrus as a spokesperson for the collection.
The collaboration makes total sense as Cyrus has been a long-time outspoken advocate for LGBTQ rights. Her charity, The Happy Hippie Foundation, especially works to shine a light on the disproportionate number of homeless LGBTQ youth.
The capsule features 22 rainbow styles of the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers and 11 equally colorful T-shirt designs. There’s a limited-edition design to honor the first Pride parade in 1970 in New York City, the option to create your own custom Pride Converse shoes, and more than a dozen posters that can be downloaded, printed, and displayed at local Pride events. All net proceeds from the collection will go to Cyrus’s Happy Hippie Foundation and the It Gets Better Project.
Converse hopes that people will use the hashtag motto #YesToAll, to spread the message that “whatever your gender, orientation, identity…everyone is free to be who they are.”
