While thousands in China have been infected with the Corona virus, with more cases popping up throughout Europe and a handful in the United States, a varity of events, including concerts have been cancelled. With Ultra Miami scheduled for mid-March, many are concerned that it would be the perfect breeding grounds for the illness.
In a prepared statement, the gathering said that it has already made plans for extra hand-sanitizing stations at the three-day event, and will be promoting health tips related to Corona virus to its attendees. “There are no plans to cancel, postpone, move or scale down the 2020 production,” the festival noted. “The health and safety of our attendees, artists, and staff are of paramount concern to us and we will continue to follow the recommendations of the experts respecting issues on public health.”
Furthermore, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez cautioned against “overreaction to a virus that remains a potential threat to Miami-Dade, rather than an actual one.” Everyone is looking forward to a successful Ultra Miami from March 20-22 at Bayfront Park. Select tickets are still available here.
