If fans were expecting Marshmello‘s recent collab with Chris Brown and Tyga to be his classic brand of main stage EDM, they may be disappointed, because “Light It Up” sees the three fully embracing Top 40 Rap.

Despite not being 100% in his wheelhouse, the helmeted DJ took the project in stride, creating an infectious beat that allows ample space for Tyga (real name Micheal Ray Stevenson) and Brown’s alternating verses to shine. “Light It Up” is by no means the “Silence” producer’s first foray into hip-hop as the anonymous artist has recently teamed up with SOBxRBE and Roddy Ricch, and still has a Cardi B collaboration on the way.

Along with the original Universal Music-released recording comes a sensational video which highlights the two vocalists  performing at a club in a classic concert-like environment while Marshmello provides bass-heavy instrumentals. Check out the bright visual for “Light It Up” below.
