It turns out, for those who didn’t know, there is a musical component to the Golden Globe Awards; and this year, pop stars are making themselves heard in a certain category.
Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Nick Jonas and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood are all nominated for various awards. Blige earned nominations for her work in the Dee Rees’ period film “Mudbound.” She’s also up for best supporting actress in a motion picture and best original song for “Mighty River,” which she co-wrote.
“I feel so good. I’ve been thanking God all morning long. I’ve been up since my phone has been ringing,” the 46-year-old Blige said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.
Within the “Best Original Song” category is where we find our household pop stars, as well as the people they are up against. We can’t wait to see who walks away with the Globe this year.
