On Wednesday (November 27th), Madonna canceled all three of her intimate Madame X tour Massachusetts dates, citing doctor’s orders. The icon’s exhibitions were originally scheduled to take place at Boston Center Wang Theatre from November 30th to December 2nd.

“Please forgive this unexpected turn of events. Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you,” Madonna said in a statement.

Tour promoter Live Nation has also confirmed the news and added that the dates will not be rescheduled “due to the tight scheduling through the balance of the year.” Refunds for the Boston shows will be automatically issued to the credit card on which they were ordered.

This issue is not the first for the Madame X tour as Madonna had to push back her New York dates due to production delays and also canceled the opening night of her residency shows in Los Angeles at The Wiltern theatre earlier this month.
