Set to take place July 20-21 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the Mad Decent Block Party Festival has formally announced its cancellation.

In a statement Wednesday (July 10th), the gathering’s organizers wrote that “unfortunately putting this event on in the way it was envisioned has become impossible, due to circumstances beyond our control. All parties involved have agreed that moving forward would be a disservice to fans and artists alike, and cancellation is in everyone’s best interest.” Read the complete statement here.

Officially dubbed the “Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Block Party,” the festival was set to feature headliners Billie Eilish, G-Eazy, Major Lazer, Miguel and some 40 other dance, pop and hip-hop acts. The event first hit trouble on June 7th, when organizers announced Kodak Black was dropping from the lineup. Unable to find a “comparable” replacement, the event instead offered reduced price two-day and single-day tickets.
